SusCritMat aims to educate people from Master’s student level up, both in industry and academia about important aspects of Sustainable critical raw materials. In a novel concept, it introduces courses on these complex and interdisciplinary topics in a modula structure, adaptable to a variety of different formats and accessible to both students and managers in industry. One of the lectures held at the SusCritMat Winter School in Les Diablerets in January is now available for free download: BRGM’s introduction to Criticality by Dominque Guyonnet and Gaëtan Levebre as well as the associated hands-on exercise.
This April, ESM Foundation will co-host this symposium as part of the UNECE Resource Management Week 2018. It reflects on the future availability of secondary raw materials and the need for a unifying global standard – the United Nations Framework Classification (UNFC) – to manage anthropogenic resources in a circular economy, with special reference to valorizing wastes for the recovery of Critical Raw Materials.
