The Minerals, Metals and Materials Society (TMS) will host the third installment of the IRTC roundtable at the TMS 2019 Annual Meeting & Exhibition. The topic will be “How Does Industry Manage Criticality in Product Development?” All TMS 2019 registrants are invited to attend this roundtable session and participate in the discussion. ESM acted as Guest Editor for a special issue on “Critical Raw Materials” of the Elsevier journal “Sustainable Materials and Technologies“. Several members of the Foundation contributed to the seven publications comprised in this issue. It can be found online (open access) here.
In April 2017, the ESM team has experienced several changes. After almost 30 years, ESM president Dr. Bruno Walser and CEO Dr. Margarethe Hofmann resigned from their positions. The new president of ESM is Dr. Ernst Lutz, former advisor of ESM and member of the Board of Trustees. Dr. Lutz, after being CEO of the EIT Raw Materials from 2015 to 2016, is Vice Executive President at Grundfos in Bjerringbro, Denmark, but stays closely connected to his home country Switzerland.
